LOOKIT ME ALL INFOPOSTING FROM DUTCHLAND. LOOKIT.

Alexander "Alec" Gideon Lightwood (The Mortal Instruments), [livejournal.com profile] not_trivial

  • Is 16 years old and from New York, New York (FINALLY I GET A NEW YORKER)
  • Is a rising junior
  • Is from the same universe and timeline as [livejournal.com profile] liarallmyown
  • Like Jace, is a Shadowhunter, or a super-fast, super-strong, super-agile demon hunter who draws runes on himself to give him even more powers
  • Except Alec wasn't shot up with angel blood as a fetus so Jace has one up on him there
  • Is Jace's parabatai, which means they share some of one another's powers and have taken a vow to fight together, so expect them as a super-synchronized power duo during BDEs or whatever
  • Hasn't gone to normal school before on account of growing up in the New York branch of the Shadowhunters' Institute, which is basically a safe haven for Shadowhunters in need of a place to stay. His parents, Robert and Mayrse Lightwood, run it, assisted by a guy named Hodge Starkweather, so Alec's grown up living and training to be a Shadowhunter there with his brother Max, his sister Isabelle and his adopted brother Jace.
  • And he's seriously not good at adapting to changes in that dynamic, tyvm
  • Carries around a Sensor, a vaguely phone-shaped item that can detect demon energies and such, so if you're basically anything other than garden-variety human, he'll know
  • So his Sensor will go off in one of two circumstances: one, if he's near an actual demon, which he'll know and immediately think you're evil for, or two, if he's near a Downworlder (a werewolf, vampire, faerie or warlock/witch), which he'll have a little more difficulty detecting without hints and won't make him hate you per se, but he won't exactly be jumping to be your best friend, either.
  • But in the case that you are one of those things, he'll probably just scowl heavily at you, because a.) kid likes his scowls and b.) he's not obligated to attack someone unless they've broken the Law (which basically means hurting a human)
  • Personality-wise, he's serious and contemplative most of the time, and very concerned with safety in a crisis
  • He's very intelligent, but doesn't always pick up on sarcasm, which is ridiculous considering who he grew up with
  • He's canonically established to be really, really pretty, hence the PB, but he slouches and tries to get people to not notice him. I mean, he dresses himself in ratty black sweaters and jeans all the time. SIGH, Alec.
  • He's gay, but is currently a tiiiiny bit hung up on Jace, so good luck with that, fellas
  • Speaks a decent amount of Latin and fragments of some other languages
  • Has a lot of insecurities relating to the fact that even though he's an almost-adult Shadowhunter, he's never actually killed a demon
  • Also has a ton of codependency/self-worth issues that manifest themselves in maaaajor jealousy when someone gets too cozy with someone he cares about
  • Has a tendency to mother-hen people, mainly because he's accustomed to being the only reasonable one among rash people who like to charge into things
  • Is not really an openly friendly person. But when he gets to know someone and likes them, he can become very, very attached.
  • Very. Attached.

And the non-newbies!

Frank William Abagnale, Jr. (Catch Me If You Can), [livejournal.com profile] catchmeifyoucan

  • Is 14 years old and from New Rochelle, New York in 1959
  • Is a rising freshman
  • Will grow up to be a con man and run across New York forging checks and impersonating a doctor and a PanAm pilot and generally aggravating FBI Agent Carl Hanratty before ultimately joining the FBI as a consultant
  • No, in a totally different way from this guy
  • Loves school, like a dork
  • Is genuinely friendly and adorable to everyone
  • Dresses like he has to wear a uniform even when he doesn't...
  • Speaks fluent French (and spends some time in canon impersonating a French teacher just for shits and giggles)
  • Reads comic books, loves the ladies, and thinks he's super sophisticated because he's from New York. State. He is wrong.
  • Is curious like a fourteen-year-old, and will probably ask all sorts of weird personal questions if you're clearly from a vastly different background from him. It's a thing he does.
  • Is kind of a schemer when there's something he wants, though usually things come naturally to him because he's lucky as hell
  • Sometimes breaks the fourth wall, just a little
  • Really, really likes flight attendants

Christopher "Topher" Andrew Brink (Dollhouse), [livejournal.com profile] dollpocalypse

  • Is 16 years old and from Los Angeles, California
  • Is a rising junior
  • Is a genius, which he has no shame about informing you at every possible opportunity
  • Is kinda-sorta-possibly starting to date the adorable selfhelphero
  • Is capable of advanced hacking and computer programming, including the super-secret spy robots he cranks out for [info]lockestheway
  • Always wears a bracelet on his left wrist that says "Kill your idols"
  • Has a tattoo on his left ankle that reads meta for "NCC-1701," the serial number of the ship from Galaxy Quest
  • Chugs Mountain Dew like it's the last sugary beverage on earth
  • Works at Stark Industries on Saturdays
  • Has a laundry list of phobias, including: rats and other rodents, the dark (especially when he's already stressed), wide open spaces (ditto), ladyparts, and being rejected by the friends he's built up since coming here
  • Is an enormous nerd. He's also way too curious for his own good, which means poking around the internet for people's personal information. Let me know if you want him to dig something up on your character and I'll be happy to work something out!
  • Has Asperger's, and... has never really had friends before, so he doesn't always know how to go about being a friend
  • When there are people who can stand to be around him? He clings. A lot.
  • Pisses most people off. Will probably piss your character off. If he reaches a point of offending you on an OOC basis, please let me know so I can dial him back.
  • Will eventually pretty much almost end the world. Oopsies.

    And finally, me!

    Michelle

    • I'm 19, 4'11, and while most of the year I'm at school in Chicago, now I'm back home in New York for the summer, wheeee.
    • Well, not now now. Right now I'm in Dutchland. WAVE HI TO DUTCHFACE, GUYS.
    • I joined FH two years ago this week, jfc.
    • I'm a college sophomore (!!) and have way too much time on my hands.
    • According to Len, I do not have a type. That is unfortunate. I wanted a type. Maybe now I'll decide to make one.
    • I'm terrified of cats. For srs.
    • Yes, I insist on the nickname "Teacup." Not "Fetusface" or "Whore," thank you so much Bridgey and Sam.
    • I think Cassie Clare seriously hates me or something by putting out a casting non-announcement the day after I picked my PB. Seriously Cassie, WTF. I ONCE CHIPPED IN TO BUY YOU A LAPTOP, BITCH. Or an iPod. One of those.

Jack can be noticed as a lycanthrope anytime.

Tara can be noticed as a witch, though there's wiggle room there due to "witch" not being a separate race in the Buffyverse and I know you know this anyhow.
trigons_child: (Comic Scan: Hooded and watching)

Raven pings demon, obviously, and so does Bel if he happens to be around, and he's welcome to jump on either of them. Bel will think it's cute.

Wyatt would be witch and "other," since he's half angel.
    From: [identity profile] withasword.livejournal.com
Kate and George can be noticed! Annnd both fall under 'whathaveyou', creepy little zombie raisers that they are.

Wrong journal, laaaaa. Bo is totally open for picking up that she's whathaveyou. Which probably pings faerie, since in her canon everybody with powers belongs to the Fae race.

Alec can notice Mercy is a something. She's not a werewolf - as the weres are quick to point out, but she does shift into a coyote, so she'll have a definite other-ness about her.
    From: [identity profile] beautifulsenshi.livejournal.com
Not sure what Minako would ping as, since she's technically a reincarnation of an alien princess who was a reincarnation of the goddess Venus? So, whatever you want!

And feel free to pick up that Artemis is a space-caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat.
    From: [identity profile] harpy-daughter.livejournal.com
Blood/witch/whatever the other witches want to read-as.
    From: [identity profile] secretheritage.livejournal.com
Cassie, Cassidy, Phoebe and Savannah will all ping as being a witch.

Savannah is also a sorcerer and a quarter demon. BFFs, right?! :D

Cassidy is Blood/witch whatever the others in my canon go with. :D
    solarhippie: ([lsd] Sheepishly.)
    From: [personal profile] solarhippie
Oh look another alien who will definitely ping as not human!

Eric's not at allll shy about being a vampire.

BILLY MAKES EVERYTHING HARD. NOT DIRTY.

Alec can totally notice that Billy is a warlock/witch/whatevs. Buuuuut the thing is he was also made out of demonic energy? Like, originally? So IDEK how that would show up to Alec, but he's totally welcome to notice that too. SIGH COMICS, SIGH.

If it makes you feel any better your choice in PB is waaaaaaay more appropriate than Ed Westwick. And I love Ed so much that I've used him as two PBs already.

Yeaaaah. Ed is extremely hot and talented but I just cannot see him as Alec. Also he is way too good for this movie, which is going to be traaaaaash. Poor guy.
