The Preserve, Sunday Morning

It was now day two of being a girl, and Alec was determined not to make himself look like a complete idiot in the salle again. But he was also determined to train every single day, because he was a freak like that, so he and his bow (which was now slightly too big for him) were now out in the preserve, where he was practicing shooting at trees. The reasoning was that at least out here, if he messed up, it wouldn't be in front of the normal Sunday morning salle crowd -- though to be fair, the Fandom weird this weekend meant that there might not even be a Sunday morning salle crowd.

Still, though. Better safe than humiliated.

It turned out, though, that shooting a bow as a girl was pretty difficult, and Alec kept accidentally grazing his -- Izzy's -- breasts while trying to line up his shots, which was extremely distracting and also horrifying. Plus his hair kept falling into his face and he couldn't figure out how to tie it up so it would stay up, so... all in all, he just wasn't doing too well. Sigh.

He'd be out here for a while.

"Seriously, Alec, I think Hodge will forgive you for not training under these circumstances." Jace wasn't really a woodsy type of guy but he made exceptions when bored.

To his credit, Alec didn't yelp or anything upon being startled, though he did jump a little and manage to fire an arrow into a branch a bit too high for him to easily retrieve it from. Sigh. "Well, there's no point in not training," he said. "And I'm not doing it for Hodge, anyway. I take it you've been enjoying the weekend off?"

"It's kind of boring, actually." Which would be why he was out in the woods. "But my apparently sub par breasts keep getting in my way when I try to work out."

Alec had to laugh at that. "Are you really going to keep up with that?" he asked, grinning. "You know I didn't mean it personally. And you're welcome to blame the lighting."

"Thank you, I will," Jace said. "Though personal or not, I'm still telling Izzy about this. It's just too good."

"Fine, fine, if you must," Alec granted. "You're just going to make her want to come see this place if you keep telling her how strange it is, though." Yay, someone else to get into catfights with Natalie! Wouldn't that be fun?

"What's so wrong with that?" Jace asked. "She probably needs the break what with being the only person in the Institute Hodge can nag at."

"Yes, but imagine her the first weekend she turns into a boy," Alec pointed out. And then took a moment to picture that.

It probably wouldn't be pretty.

Jace huffed out a laugh. "She'd probably look like you and put you in skintight leather."

"And I think we can both agree that that should never happen," Alec decided. "So let's try to avoid that, shall we?"

"You are no fun whatsoever," Jace sighed. "You getting any better with your bow or was Izzy not meant for archery at all?"

"It's hard to tell," Alec said thoughtfully. "My whole balance is off, considering. Plus now the bow's a little big for me. It's harder than you'd think." And also completely pointless, since he was probably never going to have to use archery skills while in a girl's body ever again, so. "Want to try?"

Jace looked at the bow and then looked down at his own chest. "I think that's just going to end with me elbowing myself in the boob."

"...Charming." Wasn't it, though? "Thank you for that visual."

"I'm surprised you haven't done it yet," Jace said. "Isabelle isn't exactly lacking in that department."

And there was another charming visual for you, Alec.

"Oh, could we not?" Alec groaned. "As a personal favor, let's maybe not discuss the size of my sister's breasts, if you don't mind." Picky, picky. "It's bad enough to have to have them on me."

Jace sighed dramatically. "Oh alright. But only because you asked nicely."

That was Alec for you. Always polite and considerate.

"So," he segued, "spoken to Natalie again yet?"

"No." That was a great subject to land on, thanks. "She said she didn't want to see me, so I'm staying away."

You know, until he got super bored.

"Still?" Huh. "I thought she would've found you again by now. It's been, what, a week?"

"Apparently I'm not as irresistible as I think I am." Jace frowned at the thought. "Or maybe there's something wrong with her."

Alec had to grin a bit at that. "It might be a little of both."

He was so clever, attempting humor for once.

Jace smirked. "Aren't you supposed to be supportive?"

"I am supportive." Sort of. "But I also take it as a personal mission to deflate your ego whenever possible. For the good of the world."

Alec normally failed terribly at this mission.
